Description
Characteristics of the alternator used in CLAAS harvesters
Alternator for CLAAS harvesteris the fundamental component of the electrical system of every modern agricultural machine. Its task is to convert mechanical energy, supplied by the engine, into electrical energy.Alternator for CLAAS harvestergenerates alternating current, which is then rectified to direct current, allowing power to be supplied to all electrical components of the machine and maintaining the battery's state of charge. This part, identified by part number 00 0799 640 0, is designed for operation in agricultural conditions – with high dust levels, vibrations, and variable temperatures.
Location of the alternator in the CLAAS harvester design
Alternator for CLAAS harvesteris located in the engine compartment, where it is mounted on the internal combustion engine and connected to its crankshaft via a belt – most commonly a V-belt or multi-rib belt. This configuration allows the transmission of mechanical energy from the engine directly to thealternator for CLAAS harvester, which generates the current necessary for the operation of all the machine's electrical systems. The location of the alternator was planned with easy service access in mind, facilitating technical condition checks and replacement.
Application and functions of the alternator in the machine's electrical system
The primary task performed by thealternator for CLAAS harvesteris the continuous supply of electrical energy to all current consumers – both during engine operation and during start-up. The device powers the lighting, control electronics, sensors, fans, air conditioning, and all other electrical systems.Alternator for CLAAS harvesteris also responsible for charging the battery and stabilising the voltage in the installation, working with the voltage regulator to protect sensitive electronic components. Thanks to its robust construction, it is adapted for continuous operation for many hours.
